A Thought (Repost)
My thoughts on launching this substack, decisions I've made, and thoughts in general.
I have come to find little more than despair on Substack personally. Maybe the problem is who I follow, but I don’t even think that’s the reason. Most everybody I follow are actually good writers and generally fit in the right-wing dissident bucket, so they have news and commentary that doesn’t make me puke.
The problem is life. Reality — I don’t think a word exists in English for the experience I have so often nowadays, maybe you have felt it too. It is that feeling that comes from reading an article, or watching a video, or listening to a person that is 90%, even 99% good and true, but then you come to that last bitter percent and it fills you with existential dread.
How could they get all that right and miss that?
How do they not know?
How did they reach that conclusion?
Then there’s also the problem of ceaseless chattering. Unfortunately we are inundated with the chattering classes here, it only makes sense: where else to go chatter anymore? Free speech spaces are at a premium these days, and this ecosystem lets you monetize.
M O N E T I Z E
Now it’s a great thing to be able to monetize your work. There’s a lot of talented people out there, and a lot of true journalists that absolutely deserve to get paid for their work. In principle nothing is wrong, but reality is not principle.
The unfortunate reality is that, just like with youtube, monetization becomes its own incentive. Nothing to say? Say something anyways. Nothing new? Clickbait title and thumbnail. People are losing interest? Publish more! more content more more more more more! And you are ever chasing the algorithm dragon. This, along with censorship, is why I never pursued a career in proffering youtube videos.
So with the incentive of money, people are unfortunately motivated to just keep posting and play the social media game.
We are all children of the attention economy, and mommy is angry. Vewy angwy
I’m very surprised, actually, at how substack really is social media. Social media for more thinking people, but still it works exactly the same way, and you’re getting the exact same dopamine hits from people liking your totally sick burns on those left-wing stack losers.
You got her good!
But this behavioral loop isn’t compatible with what’s actually good and worth reading. I got virtually ill from having substack on my phone — always reading another exposé or vomit-inducing reality that we are positively deluged by, day by day hour by hour. I uninstalled it. It’s all bad news or hopium/copium and I know that, probably you know that by now too. Besides the occasional big news — like the attempted assassination of Trump — I’m really not gaining anything by constant bad news and the same old story. Jury is still out on whether that was good or bad news as well. I’d like to see people break away from the vote mind-virus, thinking that actually does anything.
Then there’s the analysis paralysis. It’s tempting, I’m very tempted to get into it right here and right now — maybe I’m already there — but it’s really just meaningless. Once you understand things are bad and The West is not dying, it’s already dead — we are in the ever-so-sweet-smelling stage of putrefaction of her bloated corpse — you really don’t need a Nietzschean archetypical breakdown of Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris et all. They’re are evil, but they’re ultimately just vultures, as are all the current profiteers devouring the West. They’re despicable, but scavenging carrion is still a vital role to play in the grand scheme of things.
The more I understand the process the less I hate the opportunists and the more I hate the people sitting on their hands letting it all happen. Just like with the 3rd world importation into the West: heck you’d do it too if you were in their shoes, it’s the people bringing them in and supporting them that are the real problem. But guess what: that’s us! Same thing with Covid mania.
It is likewise not very valuable to read the 81st essay on the managerial takeover, although I did enjoy the latest. I think we have a dilemma in that we all want to keep dissecting the issues and fleshing out this-and-that, saying I got that right because I’m a neo-monarchist Hitler maximalist, you Nietzschean fundamentalist hippies just don’t understand true blood and soil-ology. It’s all just so ridiculously theoretical. I know about 3 guys in real life I can talk to about these sorts of things, but everybody else thinks we’re insane when we’re digging into it in bars. Nobody gets laid.
Don’t listen to that farkakteh meschugge bologna up there, I wanna buy a boat! Oh, and tell your friends
So this brings me to my decision. I don’t want to get carried off into the ever-repeating quandry of analysis paralysis or constant play-by-play. I want to try and do something different: an artistic and metaphysical outlet. Not news and analysis (though there is a place for that too of course), and not constant content-churn for my own ego and pocketbook.
So anyways that should wrap things up for my first real post. Many topics will abound here, particularly theology, metaphysics, and human nature in general. I believe in a bottom-up approach: one must understand the fundamental, core things in every human being and every thing to create and build soundly. It is God’s glorious creation, and He has given us dominion over it to exercise wisely.
Comment below to call me names, but don’t call me names unless you’re giving me money. Then you can get into the name calling, goyim.
Shalom
